The major interests of Mount Abu are the Dilwara Jain Temples. The temples make it an extraordinary place to visit not only for the Jain pilgrims but also for the other tourists.

A Tour to Mount Abu includes a visit to different places of tourist interest which comprises chiefly of the temples and palaces but also of the beautiful lakes and bazaars as well. The age of the temples dates back to the 11th and 13th Centuries AD. The marbles that compose the building have been brought from Makrana. It is said that the Makrana marbles are of exceptional quality. The temples are magnificent structures that would surely impress any onlooker.

Mount Abu is a historical place with immense tourist interest. According to the Hindu Mythology, Sage Vashistha performed the great Yagna at Mount Abu.

Gaumukh Temple

It is said that sage Vashishtha performed a Yagya (a Hindu rite) here to regenerate the human race which resulted in the birth of Chauhans, Solankis, Pannars and Pratihars. There is a natural spring here that flows out of a sculpted head of a cow and the name of the temple also has been derived from it.
Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary
It was declared a protected area in 1960 and the place has developed into an attractive destination which attracts tourists from all over the world. The tourism department here has made sincere efforts towards promoting eco tourism in the sanctuary. The sanctuary is a thriving hub for the biodiversity of the area. Some of the important species here include Indian civet, Hyena, Wild Boar and Langoor among others.
Dilwara Temple
The Dilwara Temples are a group of Jain temples located at the distance of 2.5 km from Mount Abu. These temples are magnificent marble structures and are among the most sacred pilgrimages for the Jain community. The temples reflect a marked simplicity in the overall structure though ornamental details can be noticed in every corner of the temple.
   
 
 

Adhar Devi Temple
Carved out of a huge rock, the Adhar Devi temple stands at the distance of 3 km from the city. It is built on a rock cleave and you'll have to go between the rocks to reach the temple. The Adhar Devi temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga and is an important pilgrimage site among the Hindus. You can also have a panoramic view of the valley from here.
